The new cellar of Château Preuillac

In 2019, Château Preuillac undertook a major renovation project to equip itself with a state-of-the-art technical facility and to better accommodate wine consumers and professionals. The renovation included a complete overhaul of the vat room, main entrance, winery, and grape reception area. Additionally, a new tasting room was created, providing an ideal space for both individuals and professionals visiting the château.

The main entrance

The main entrance has been renovated and now features a custom-made door adorned with multiple symbols. This door invites visitors to embark on a journey into the world of wine. It consists of concentric circles, symbolizing the pursuit of perfection. The glass elements are all multiples of four, representing the four seasons.

Oak is prominently featured, evoking the wood of barrels and vats, and is integral to the identity of Château Preuillac's wines. Polished and gilded brass elements reference the sun, while the glass symbolizes rain, both essential for vine growth. At the center of the door, a vine stalk stands, with all the elements converging towards it.

The vat room

Between 2018 and 2020, all of the oak fermentation tanks were replaced and are now equipped with temperature control systems for better temperature management. The tank sizes were also adjusted, with an average volume reduced from 200 hectoliters to 160 hectoliters, allowing for parcel-specific winemaking. Additionally, Château Preuillac has 7 stainless steel tanks of smaller volumes, ranging from 25 to 50 hectoliters. The renovation of the vat room now provides the technical team with a high-performance tool for crafting the wines of Château Preuillac.

The cellar

Château Preuillac has two barrel aging cellars with a total capacity of 300 barrels, all arranged on a single level. The renovation included a redesign of the lighting to create a warm atmosphere while ensuring high-quality illumination for winemaking operations. Additionally, a temperature and humidity control system using air circulation has been installed to maintain stable and optimal conditions for aging the wine.
